Eagle County School Job Fair 2018 - April 11th and 18th

Dear Eagle County Schools Parents and Students--

You are invited to the Eagle County JOB Fair. This is an amazing collaboration between Eagle County businesses, government, and non-profit organizations to help our students learn about summer jobs that are offered throughout the Valley. Our goal is to assist students with job placement.

There will be two job fairs offered for our students at both Eagle Valley High School and at Battle Mountain High School. The job fair at Eagle Valley High School will take place on April 11th, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. The job fair at Battle Mountain High School will take place on April 18th, from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Students should have a completed resume in order to be admitted to the job fair. Students should come prepared with appropriate dress, questions they may have for the businesses with whom they are applying, and be ready to be interviewed by the businesses.

This event is replacing the Career Fair. While the format has changed we still offer the opportunity for students to explore a career path of their choice. Through CareerX students will be able to determine how the career exploration experience can inform their future goals and career paths. The career exploration options that we currently offer are job shadows, internships, and employment. Job shadows consist of a half day or full day on site business visit that includes informational interviews with business professionals and their respective career paths, a site tour and a site tour debrief. Internships are designed for high school juniors and seniors. They entail meaningful career tasks and work, mentorship from business partners, and job-readiness skill development. Internships are a 60 hour per semester commitment and students receive a .5 elective credit upon completion.

We look forward to seeing you at the Eagle County JOB Fair 2018!
