CareerX

CareerX brings Eagle County youth together with local businesses to create internship and job shadow experiences. The purpose is to allow high school students opportunities to explore careers, learn about local businesses, and develop college and career plans that fit their interests. Offering a broad variety of internship and job shadow experiences allows students to expand their understanding of career opportunities and customize academic planning to fit career goals.

Career Exploration

Eagle County School District students own and track their learning around career pathways through their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP). Naviance is the tool our students use to start their research.

What is Virtual Job Shadow?

VirtualJobShadow.com is a highly engaging, fully digital career exploration and workforce development resource for secondary and post-secondary students, and jobseekers. We bring job shadowing directly to the account-holder, eliminating many of the costs and challenges frequently associated with traditional job shadowing. Set up your account today to access hundreds of career profiles and videos, along with education and job-search tools, and more. Want to find out more? Please contact: kristen.ludlow@eagleschools.net or ellen.sirico@eagleschools.net to set up an account.

Student Opportunities

Students can apply for apprenticeship, internship, job shadow, and employment opportunities. Students should begin by talking with their school counselor to ensure they have room in their high school course load. From there, counselors will connect students with a CareerX team member to assess their interests and determine a placement for them. Learn more about CareerX Opportunities.

Business Opportunities

The Eagle County School District Business Partner Request Form is the first step in participating in our district wide career exploration programs. We have four paths for business partners to consider: Internship, Job Shadow, Three Year Apprenticeship and Employment. After completing this form, you will be contacted by an Eagle County School District representative to share information about our programs and clarify questions you may have. Thank you for your interest in partnering with Eagle County School District to provide a meaningful career exploration experience for our students.
