Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement (AP) refers to a type of class high school students are able to take. This is a program created by the College Board that offers high school students a nationally recognized opportunity to earn high school and college level credits at the same time.

Students take the nationally recognized AP exam at the completion of the class, and college credit is earned when a student scores a 3 or higher (on a scale of 1 to 5) on that exam.

AP credits are recognized by most American colleges and universities.
