Screen Time Recommendations

For school-aged children, there is currently no recommended amount of time for use of a screen.  Instead, experts focus on what the child is doing on the screen.  Not all screen time is equal.  Screen time can span from consumptive, where a child is simply consuming content (Youtube, scrolling on social media, etc) to creative, where a child is engaging to create new content (video editing, website design, etc).  When on screens, it is recommended that children spend more time in the creative end of the spectrum than the consumptive.  (See image below.)  To access the most up-to-date expert recommendations, please visit:
