Meeting the Needs of ELL Students
About half of Eagle County Schools students come to school already speaking a language other than English at home. This makes Eagle County Schools the perfect environment for dual language education.
Eagle County Schools uses the terms Multilingual Learner (ML), English Language Learner (ELL, EL) and Emerging Bilingual (EB) interchangeably.
Click on the button to find easy to use strategies to support multilingual learners in your classroom. Strategies are organized by content, language domain and language level. Contact Amber Gonzalez-Cortes for questions or training on any of the strategies.
NEP=Non English Proficient
LEP=Limited English Proficient
FEP=Fluent English Proficient
Only NEP and LEP are considered ELLs currently "in program."
