EL PD for license renewal
Teachers can satisfy the 45 clock/contact hours or three semester hours in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education requirement with:
- Individual PD Verification- using the matrix on CDE’s website
- Coursework- CMC and other education preparation programs
- Pre Approved program (CDE website)
- Work Experience- up to 10 clock hours
EL PD must address four Quality Standards, with a total of eight elements which relate to education of ELLs. All elements must be addressed, but there is no minimum hour requirement per element. EL PD counts towards meeting the 90 clock hour for license renewal.
