Dan is a husband, father, and attorney. During the first few years after moving to Vail, he worked for the Vail Ski Patrol, Timberline Tours, and the District Attorney’s Office. Since 2007,  Dan has worked as a transactional attorney. Through these different experiences he has learned that work of all kinds, whether with the hands or the mind, reflects our dignity and worth as human beings. It is Dan's goal as a member of the Eagle County School Board to provide our students with the best education possible and equip them to succeed in all their endeavors.

Lelia first moved to Eagle County in 2004. She lives in East Vail with her husband, her daughter, and their puppy. Professionally, she has worked in the construction industry for more than 20 years as a structural engineer. Lelia's daughter proudly attends their local elementary school, Red Sandstone where Lelia volunteers. Lelia is inspired by the kids, staff, and community at her school and in our district.

Born and raised in Argentina, Lucila first came to the Valley in 2000 to do an internship in Beaver Creek. Her third season she met Patrick working at one of Beaver Creek's restaurants. The next 2 years they would do their winter jobs and then backpack for 6 to 8 months around the world while Lucila didn't have a winter visa. She married Patrick in 2005 and kept working for Vail Resorts. In 2007 they started their first business, No-Bull Entertainment, providing mechanical bull and bouncy castles rentals. In 2010 they started their second business, photo booth rentals and real state photography. Patrick and Lucila have lived in Eagle since 2010. They have 2 boys, Tommy and Nico. Lucila and her family enjoy skiing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, cooking and traveling.

Kelly Alter has lived in Eagle County since 1994. She was incredibly involved at Red Sandstone Elementary School when her children were younger and loved spending time in the classroom. Kelly has served on the Board of the Education Foundation of Eagle County since 2012. She believes that investing in public education is fundamental to the success of our children and the future of our country.

Harry is a 32 year resident of Eagle County and has been involved in education his entire life. He brings this experience and understanding the value of being a lifelong learner to the Board of Education. Beginning at Red Sandstone Elementary as a 4/5th grade teacher in 1991 he then went on to to have many different learning experiences and leadership roles including: Master teacher, classroom teacher at a variety of grades PreK -8th, Specialist teacher – technology/computer, gym, resource specialist, and guest teacher. Continuing to take on more leadership roles McQueeney went back to school and completed his administrative licensure and soon after took on the responsibilities of Assistant Principal and that developed into a Co-Principalship at RSE and then Principal at Red Hill Elementary School. His last ten years in the district McQueeney had the opportunity to move up to the secondary level as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Eagle Valley Middle School.
 
Harry and his wife started their family around the same time he began his teaching and career and both of their kids went through the Eagle County school system from PreK to 12th grade. 
 
Over the last three plus decades Harry has served on a variety of committees and since his retirement two years ago has continued to be an active member of the District Accountability Committee.

Juan is a 48-year Eagle County resident, a 1991 Battle Mountain High School graduate, and son of Judy Peña, who served as Battle Mountain’s office manager for over 30 years. He has served as a trustee for the Education Foundation of Eagle County, was the PTO President for Red Hill Elementary, Gypsum Creek Middle School, and a 20-year Wild West Day volunteer. Juan is the Senior Fleet Manager at Beaver Creek. Eagle County Schools are the heart and soul of his family history and Juan wants to be a voice for our teachers, his three children, and all of our youth.

Gretchen Hovey resides in Edwards, CO with her husband, daughter and dog. As a parent of elementary ages student at Edwards Elementary, she is a devoted advocate for equitable access to quality public education. Gretchen, a resident since 2010 and small business owner from 2011 - 2022, understands our community's diverse challenges and opportunities. She believes that every child deserves the chance to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within our public education system.
