It’s that time of year: LEARN TO SKI/RIDE!  As you know, our Learn to Ski/Ride is scheduled for Thursday, 3/7 and Friday, 3/8.  For the veteran parents, you know there is a lot of information and a handful paperwork that needs to be completed to ensure those two days run as smoothly, safely, and FUN as possible!I know this is a lot of information, however please READ THROUGH ALL THE SECTIONS TO ENSURE YOU ARE AWARE OF WHERE YOU AND YOUR CHILD NEED TO BE AND THE EXACT TIMES AND LOCATIONS.

What is Learn to Ski/Ride?
Vail Ski & Snowboard School offers a two-day ski or snowboard instruction program for all Eagle County Students every year.  Red Sandstone students are scheduled to participate in this program on March 7 and 8.  We are one of only a few school districts in the country that can take advantage of this kind of opportunity and it is our hope that all of our students will participate.  Students are not required to attend but encouraged as this is a great opportunity to take advantage of our awesome terrain.

Online Forms to be completed by Thursday, February 21
Our forms are electronic and we will send the link in Tiger Talk in early December, so please be on the look out!  Please fill out the entire packet for each child you have attending.  The form must be completed entirely and payment submitted by Thursday, February 21 in order for your student to attend Learn to Ski.

I know this is a lot of information, however please READ THROUGH ALL THE SECTIONS TO ENSURE YOU ARE AWARE OF WHERE YOU AND YOUR CHILD NEED TO BE AND THE EXACT TIMES AND LOCATIONS.

PROGRAM COSTS
Learn to Ski/Ride includes two days of instruction at your child’s level as well as equipment, if needed.  You are NOT required to rent equipment, only if it is needed.  It is required to pay the full costs even if your child attends only one day.  Lunch is not included.  Your student may bring a sack lunch (that needs to be 100% disposal including drinks) or may purchase one from the school cafeteria for $3 each day.

Learn to Ski Registration ONLY - $41.00 (including $4 transportation fee)
Learn to Ski with Equipment - $63.00 (including $4 transportation fee)

Payments are due no later than Thursday, February 21.  Please submit payment to RSES (via Angie Kyle) using cash, check (payable to RSES), or MySchoolBucks.com.  You may condense your payment for multiple students; however, each student must have an individual form completed. Payments should be sent directly to RSES (not ski school).

SCHOLARSHIP INFO
Children who qualify for the school’s free and reduced lunch program may request an Economic Hardship Scholarship.  Scholarships are not offered for any reason other than economic hardship, and families are asked to pay what they can afford.   Vail Resorts is offering scholarships only to those students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program.  To request a scholarship, contact Angie at 328-2913 or angela.kyle@eagleschools.net in the front office. They will not be given unless they are requested.
